In this talk, we propose two novel modulation techniques for VLC:
Position Modulating OFDM (PM-OFDM), which utilizes DFT but removes the Hermitian constraint. Two receiver structures will be presented with tradeoff between complexities and performance. The proposed PM-OFDM outperforms the existing systems in terms of bit-error-rate (BER) and complexity, with same spectral efficiency.
A low complexity Single Carrier with Frequency Domain Equalization (SC-FDE) system based on on-off-keying (OOK) modulation. Both analytical and numerical results show that the proposed system significantly outperforms existing SC-FDE and OFDM systems in terms of PAPR, BER and implementation complexity.
